About the Blog
As you may quickly notice, the posted content here can be a bit varied in content and readability.
The blog part of this website serves a mixture of motives, reasons that themselves have evolved in the years since I first set up a personal website to call my own.
What you see are meant to be humble essays rather than truly meticulous or groundbreaking work.
A project of expressionism in the spirit of the essay. As Adorno would put it, fits and starts to grapple with the breaks and discontinuities of reality.
Perhaps I take the sketchbook approach too far without proper editing and revisions of what is thrown out upon an overlooked corner of a world stage.
The selfish aspect of this project is to instill discipline to continue writing as my temptation is far more to engage in unending reading benders where ideas are ingested and purged without taking the time to ruminate upon them properly.
To "publish" it even for a non-existent second party to be able to read is a self-imposed carrot-and-stick to invest effort here, as I lack the traditional institutional "publish and perish" pressures that my analogues in academia have to keep them motivated under duress.
Less or perhaps more selfishly, I hope to put these items out there as sketches or products that may even in their half-baked state may be of interest, intrigue, or illumination for those who may happen to stumble upon this quiet corner of the Internet. Maybe even a beacon in the manner of Liu Cixin's Three Body Problem.
In fewer words, the dry and dull writings you find posted here are my personal sphere of fun. Nothing to be taken too seriously. A faint imitation of the play you may find more strongly championed in Plato and Kierkegaard.
This is the open-air wing of a workshop. Make of it what you will.
