To learn is my drive. To understand is my passion. To rest, well, that can wait until later.
People often define themselves by their work. This is all well and good, but in very few cases should 'work' be reduced to what is reported on one's W-2. Work is the incarnation of a lifestyle into producing something of good or beauty. It is the expenditure of one's time and energy into cultivating the soul into a bearer of such fruit.
For me, this is learning. Whether this be through countless hours fixed over a book. Spending weeks or months traveling and living abroad. Seeking out people who can teach you something new and interesting. Or a quiet morning spent in reflection.
I dabble in an eclectic array of hobbies ranging from language learning, intellectual history, boxing, alternative health, novels, cartography, lifestyle optimization, film, ketogenic cooking, art history, building scripting utilities, and traveling the seven seas. The degree to which I am actively engaged in these at any given time may vary.
I am from Chicago (mostly) and currently live in Charlotte, North Carolina. I run a cloud consultancy company called Caelo. I completed my Bachelors in Philosophy, English Literature, and History at Wheaton College (IL). I finished my Masters degree in Ancient and Medieval Philosophy and Philology at the University of Gothenburg in Sweden. I am not currently affiliated with a university or research institute.
I am working on expanding my company, furthering my research goals, and a few other self-cultivation gimmicks.
